- Abstract: Indonesia is one of the country that is very prone to the tectonic earthquake and tsunami, in particular Aceh areas that face directly with the confluence of two highly active tectonic plates which causes the frequent seismic activity in the area of research. The aim of research is to analyze the level of seismicity and return period of an earthquake that occurred in Aceh by using the relationship between the frequency of earthquakes with magnitudes that can be known seismicity index value and the period of limitation coordinates 940-1000 BT and 00-80 LU, magnitude ≥ 3.0 SR and depth of ≤ 80 km from 1974 to 2014 that sourced from two catalogs of earthquakes, National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) and International Seismological Center (ISC). The steps of this research are the conversion of data from both catalogs into data dat and analyzed by using software Zmap. The result of analysis between frequency and magnitude of the earthquake shows that the value of a-value and b-value is the smallest on the island of Simeulue, Northwest Aceh and North Aceh, temporarily re-earthquake period is 5SR that ranges between 1-4 months and 6SR that ranges 2-5 years.Keywords : seismicity, b-value, earthquake, return period. Abstrak: Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang sangat rawan terjadi gempa bumi tektonik dan tsunami, secara khusus wilayah Aceh yang berhadapan langsung dengan pertemuan dua lempeng tektonik yang sangat aktif menyebabkan seringnya terjadi aktifitas seismik di wilayah penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat seismisitas dan periode ulang gempa bumi yang terjadi di wilayah Aceh dengan menggunakan hubungan antara frekuensi dengan magnitudo gempa bumi sehingga dapat diketahui nilai indeks seismisitas dan periode ulangnya dengan batasan koordinat 940–1000 BT dan 00–80 LU, magnitudo ≥ 3.0 SR dan kedalaman ≤ 80 km dari tahun 1974–2014 yang bersumber dari dua catalog gempabumi National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) dan International Seismological Center (ISC). Tahapan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pengubahan data dari kedua catalog menjadi data dat dan dianalisis menggunakan software Zmap. Hasil dari analisis antara frekuensi dengan magnitude gempa bumi menunjukkan bahwa nilai a-value dan b-value terkecil berada di pulau Simeulue, Barat Laut Aceh dan Utara Aceh, secara temporal periode ulang gempa bumi dengan 5SR berkisar antara 1-4 bulan dan 6SR berkisar antara 2-5 tahun.Kata kunci : seismisitas, b-value, gempa bumi, periode ulang.
