- The objective of this study was to know the potency of livestock feeding both pigs and cow in Kamu Valley District of Kamu at Nabire Regency. This research was carrted out for one month, from October 8 to November 20,2004. Analysis of feed materials was done in Nutrition and Animal Feed Laboratol)', Animal Science Faculty of 2 weeks. This research arranged by descriptive and survey methods as. The site of research were Lapangim, Kampung Bobob~tu and Kampung !kebo. Result showed that the species of foragen was dominated by grass (graminae), consisted of Setaria barbata (LamfKllilth), Commelina paeata Hassk, Leersia hexandra Swartz and Rottbellina exaltata LF. The estimation of carrying capacity of natural pasture in Kamu Valley ,vas approximately 1,8.02 Animal Unit/Ha/Year.Key word: Pigs, Cows, Kamu Valley
