  • This research studied about characterization elements of clay in mining site of PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. as raw material for making cement and rubber filler. The elemental compostion which can be compared with existing quality standard. Clay in mining site as a substitute for ordinary clay to enable the presence of elements which are useful as an alternative raw material for making cement and rubber filler which the bigger composition. By using SEM to analyzed the composition of the elements clay is performed pretreatment with sample preparation and sample burned clay mine samples in the furnace at the temperature of 968OC with 2, 3, 4 hours for each layers of the clay mine and then analyzed by SEM. The results showed the composition of the clay mine PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. can be used as an alternative raw material for cement and rubber filler material with comparable ordinary clay obtained from the results of the research journal of Prameswari (2008) that has an element of Si bigger until it reaches 26,7% and is evidenced by the elements O ranged from 56,1% to 70,5%, Si ranges from 9,85 to 26,7% Al 5,65 – 14,5% and Fe at 1 – 20% concentration percentage.
