Throughout 2019, the African Union main organs, the Assembly of African Union and the Executive Council, as well as their technical supports, the Specialized Technical Committees and others, have dealt with a variety of issues related to the environment, climate, and further sustainable development. At the outset, it is worth noting that voluntarism appears to be very characteristic of the African Union’s commitment, such an approach is also sustained by the obvious determination of the organization to engage the strict pathway to the energy transition.
