Because of a lack of adequate comparative material, we are unable to refer our specimens to P. cavernibardus with complete confidence beyond comparisons with the original species description. We recognize the need for a more comprehensive study of this species. This is an abundant species on the summit of Sarisari&#xF1;ama, where it calls during the rainy or cloudy days from roots and moss. Barrio-Amor&#xF3;s and Molina (2006) described Pristimantis aracamuni from the summit of Aracamuni, a granitic mountain about 380 km SSW from Sarisari&#xF1;ama, but sharing some especial features that clearly indicate its common origin. Both species show diurnal activity, a trill call, lack of vomerine teeth, notched discs, and a green lichen color and pattern.</description><description>Published as part of Barrio-Amor&#xF3;s, C&#xE9;sar L. &amp; Brewer-Car&#xED;as, Charles, 2010, Venezuelan Guayana, with the description of five new species, pp. 1-68 in Zootaxa 1942 on page 36, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.195474</description><identifier>https://zenodo.org/record/5231211</identifier><identifier>10.5281/zenodo.5231211</identifier><identifier>oai:zenodo.org:5231211</identifier><relation>info:eu-repo/semantics/altIdentifier/url/http://treatment.plazi.org/id/8D57B711FFE04271FF55FA71DAAFF825</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.195474</relation><relation>url:http://publication.plazi.org/id/716ECF69FFC34252FFC2FFF6DB53FF81</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.5231210</relation><relation>url:https://zenodo.org/communities/biosyslit</relation><rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</rights><source>Venezuelan Guayana, with the description of five new species, pp. 1-68 in Zootaxa 1942 36</source><subject>Biodiversity</subject><subject>Taxonomy</subject><subject>Animalia</subject><subject>Chordata</subject><subject>Amphibia</subject><subject>Anura</subject><subject>Strabomantidae</subject><subject>Pristimantis</subject><subject>Pristimantis cavernibardus</subject><title>Pristimantis cavernibardus Myers and Donnelly 1997</title><type>Other:info:eu-repo/semantics/other</type><type>Other:publication-taxonomictreatment</type><recordID>5231211</recordID></dc>
