Comments: Boaedon bocagei is an Angolan endemic species that is currently known from the coastal lowlands of the country, namely Luanda, Bengo, Zaire and Kwanza Sul provinces (Hallermann et al. 2020). Ferreira (1904) reported adult and juvenile specimens of “ Boodon lineatu s” from “Novo Redondo” (MHNC-UP/REP167), “Lembu (Serra de Selles)” and “Cacullo” and later a specimen from “Rio Luinha” (Ferreira 1906). Boaedon bocagei was recently described as a new species by Hallermann et al. (2020) in their revision of the Boaedon from Angola. The authors designated specimens MHNCUP/REP 166–168 from the Newton Expedition as paratypes, although considering them all to be from Novo Redondo, as Baía dos Tigres was in error as locality and specimen MHNCUP/ REP 164 likely corresponds to the published one from Rio Luinha, given its pattern (Ferreira 1906).

Published as part of Santos, Bruna S., Marques, Mariana P., Bauer, Aaron M. & Ceríaco, Luis M.
