VERACRUZ: Laguna la Rivera. Specimens deposited. CNHE 7777. Remarks. The 2 specimens collected in the present study correspond to Hexaglandula corynosoma by having a ventral curved trunk covered by spines extending into the middle region of the trunk, and by lacking genital spines. The specimens show a cylindrical proboscis armed with 16 longitudinal circles of 11 hooks each, conical neck, and double-walled proboscis receptacle, attached at the base of proboscis, with cerebral ganglion at mid-level (see Petrochenko, 1958). Nickol et al. (2002) reported the presence of cystacanths and adults of H. corynosoma in Southeastern U.S.A., and recently, Guill&#xE9;n-Hern&#xE1;ndez et al. (2008) reported the cystacanths of this species in the decapod Uca spinicarpa and the adult in the Yellow-crowned night heron Nyctanassa violacea (Linnaeus) in Mexico. The specimens recovered from the intestine of the white ibis represent a new host record for H. corynosoma.</description><description>Published as part of Ortega-Olivares, Mirza P., Hern&#xE1;ndez-Mena, David I., Le&#xF3;n, Gerardo P&#xE9;rez-Ponce De &amp; Garc&#xED;a-Varela, Mart&#xED;n, 2011, Helminths of the white ibis, Eudocimus albus (Aves: Therskiornithidae) in Mexico., pp. 15-26 in Zootaxa 3088 on page 21, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.200878</description><identifier>https://zenodo.org/record/6182369</identifier><identifier>10.5281/zenodo.6182369</identifier><identifier>oai:zenodo.org:6182369</identifier><relation>info:eu-repo/semantics/altIdentifier/url/http://treatment.plazi.org/id/EB7D6A1CFFCCFA27FF4FB3D6FA3BF9F6</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.200878</relation><relation>url:http://publication.plazi.org/id/17441264FFCAFA21FFD8B757FFB3FFBE</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.200883</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.6182368</relation><relation>url:https://zenodo.org/communities/biosyslit</relation><rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</rights><rights>https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode</rights><source>Helminths of the white ibis, Eudocimus albus (Aves: Therskiornithidae) in Mexico., pp. 15-26 in Zootaxa 3088 21</source><subject>Biodiversity</subject><subject>Taxonomy</subject><subject>Animalia</subject><subject>Acanthocephala</subject><subject>Palaeacanthocephala</subject><subject>Polymorphida</subject><subject>Polymorphidae</subject><subject>Hexaglandula</subject><subject>Hexaglandula corynosoma</subject><title>Hexaglandula corynosoma Travassos 1915</title><type>Other:info:eu-repo/semantics/other</type><type>Other:publication-taxonomictreatment</type><recordID>6182369</recordID></dc>
