Distribution. First record of Ventrifossa mucocephalus in the WSA. Collected from off Bahia at depths from 705 to 801 m. It was described from northern Cuba (23 °05’ 30 ” N, 82 ° 35 ’00” W), and is known from off the Atlantic coast of Florida, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean (Cohen et al. 1990).</description><description>Published as part of Melo, Marcelo R.
