Western Pacific and Indo-Pacific: Southern Japan (Ryukyu Islands) and Singapore (Anker & De Grave 2016). Western Atlantic: Brazil (Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, and Sergipe) (Pachelle et al. 2016; present study). Morphological variation. Straight rostrum, reaching the distal margin of the second article of the antennular peduncle (Fig. 2A,B). Rostrum with 5–7 dorsal teeth (predominantly 6) and 2–4 ventral teeth (predominantly 3) (Fig. 2A,B). Antennular peduncle with one minute spinule on the third article (Fig. 2C). Antennular flagellum with short accessory branch, with an unguiform shape (Fig. 2C). Ischium of the second pereiopod with clearly visible articles (Fig. 2D, E). Merus of the second pereiopod subdivided into 16–25 articles (Fig. 2D,E), with an unusual range of variation in L. lipkei (see Table 2), and the lowest numbers of articles (16 and 17) recorded in the smallest specimens (2.6 mm and 3.6 mm, respectively). Carpus of the second pereiopod subdivided into 26–31 articles (Fig. 2D,E). Left second pereiopod longer and larger than the right (Fig. 2D,E). Each segment of the left second pereiopod 1.2–1.3 times longer than the respective segment of the right (Fig. 2D,E). Merus of the fourth pereiopod with 3–5 spiniform setae (Fig. 2F). Dactylus of the fourth pereiopod biunguiculate, with tufts of setae on the terminal margin, armed with 3 spines on the flexor margin (Fig. 2G).
