The species is unusual within the Scirtothrips genus-group in having the pronotal sculpture weak with widely spaced lines, the mesonotal submedian setae arising close to the posterior margin, the tergites with few rows of microtrichia, and the antennae are 7 -segmented.</description><description>Published as part of Mound, L.
