Dalam perkembangannya, frekuensi penggunaan jasa layanan
transportasi udara telah menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan,
termasuk penerbangan berbiaya murah yang semakin menjadi daya tarik bagi
penumpang. Data yang tercatat oleh Kementrian Perhubungan menyatakan bahwa
Lion Air (LA) menjadi maskapai yang telah menerbangkan penumpang domestik
terbanyak pada tahun 2009 dibandingkan 2008, yaitu 13,3 juta penumpang
(30,7% dari seluruh penumpang yang diangkut sepanjang tahun 2009). Dalam
konteks industri layanan jasa penerbangan, fokus layanan adalah pada pencitraan
penumpang atas kebutuhan akan keselamatan dan keamanan (safety). Penelitian
ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana persepsi penumpang terhadap risiko
keselamatan penerbangan pada maskapai penerbangan Lion Air (LA) selaku
operator yang menerapkan penerbangan murah.
Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi cross sectional
dengan sumber data primer yang di dapat dari pengisian kuesioner. Jumlah sampel
minimal dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 97 sampel, namun untuk mengurangi
kesalahan dalam prediktabilitas maka digunakan 147 sampel untuk mewakili
populasi studi. Sampel penelitian dianalisis secara univariat (distribusi frekuensi)
dan bivariat (analisis korelasi-regresi dan uji t). Analisis hubungan dilakukan
dengan melihat nilai p terhadap &#945; untuk melihat tingkat kemaknaan hubungan.
Dari 147 penumpang LA yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini,
sebagain besar responden memiliki persepsi yang baik (meliputi kondisi fisik
pesawat, SDM, dan latar belakang perusahaan) sehingga mendorong mereka
untuk menggunakan jasa layanan maskapai penerbangan Lion Air, dan hanya
variabel rekomendasi lingkungan sekitar yang diketahui memiliki persepsi yang
tidak baik pada penumpangnya (70,7%). Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang secara
signifikan berhubungan dengan keyakinan untuk terbang aman dan selamat
bersama maskapai penerbangan Lion Air meliputi karakteristik kondisi pesawat
(keberadaan pesawat baru, gerakan dan suara/bunyi pesawat), ketersediaan SDM
(pilot maupun pramugari), dan latar belakang perusahaan (catatan dan
manajemen perusahaan). Sedangkan variabel yang tidak memiliki hubungan yang
signifikan meliputi variabel usia, jenis kelamin, dan jenjang pendidikan.
Berdasarkan hasil tersebut diatas maka sebaiknya instansi terkait
terutama pada penyedia jasa penerbangan Lion Air untuk lebih memperhatikan
dan mengedepankan segi safety, sehingga persepsi penumpang terhadap risiko
keselamatan penerbangan pada maskapai penerbangan Lion Air ini dapat
terbentuk dengan baik dan penumpang pun dapat dengan aman dan selamat
sampai ditempat tujuan.

konteks industri layanan jasa penerbangan, fokus layanan adalah pada pencitraan
penumpang atas kebutuhan akan keselamatan dan keamanan (safety). Penelitian
ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana persepsi penumpang terhadap risiko
keselamatan penerbangan pada maskapai penerbangan Lion Air (LA) selaku
operator yang menerapkan penerbangan murah.
Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi cross sectional
dengan sumber data primer yang di dapat dari pengisian kuesioner. Jumlah sampel
minimal dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 97 sampel, namun untuk mengurangi
kesalahan dalam prediktabilitas maka digunakan 147 sampel untuk mewakili
populasi studi. Sampel penelitian dianalisis secara univariat (distribusi frekuensi)
dan bivariat (analisis korelasi-regresi dan uji t). Analisis hubungan dilakukan
dengan melihat nilai p terhadap α untuk melihat tingkat kemaknaan hubungan.
Dari 147 penumpang LA yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini,
sebagain besar responden memiliki persepsi yang baik (meliputi kondisi fisik
pesawat, SDM, dan latar belakang perusahaan) sehingga mendorong mereka
untuk menggunakan jasa layanan maskapai penerbangan Lion Air, dan hanya
variabel rekomendasi lingkungan sekitar yang diketahui memiliki persepsi yang
tidak baik pada penumpangnya (70,7%). Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang secara
signifikan berhubungan dengan keyakinan untuk terbang aman dan selamat
bersama maskapai penerbangan Lion Air meliputi karakteristik kondisi pesawat
(keberadaan pesawat baru, gerakan dan suara/bunyi pesawat), ketersediaan SDM
(pilot maupun pramugari), dan latar belakang perusahaan (catatan dan
manajemen perusahaan). Sedangkan variabel yang tidak memiliki hubungan yang
signifikan meliputi variabel usia, jenis kelamin, dan jenjang pendidikan.
Berdasarkan hasil tersebut diatas maka sebaiknya instansi terkait
terutama pada penyedia jasa penerbangan Lion Air untuk lebih memperhatikan
dan mengedepankan segi safety, sehingga persepsi penumpang terhadap risiko
keselamatan penerbangan pada maskapai penerbangan Lion Air ini dapat
terbentuk dengan baik dan penumpang pun dapat dengan aman dan selamat
sampai ditempat tujuan.
