Penelitian ini menggunakan daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L) sebagai suplemen penambah darah super nutrisi untuk membantu mengatasi anemia dan masalah kurang gizi pada masyarakat. Disain penelitian ini adalah uji klinis acak terkontrol dan tersamar ganda, bertujuan untuk menguji efektifitas kapsul ekstrak air daun kelor terhadap nilai hematologi dan biokimia darah pada wanita yang menderita anemia (Hb 8-12 g/dl) dibandingkan dengan kapsul sulfas ferossus sebagai standar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 35 orang wanita usia 16- 49 tahun(17 orang kelompok kelor dan 18 orang kelompok kontrol) diberikan kapsul daun kelor dengan dosis 1400 mg setiap hari selama 3 minggu. Setelah dilakukan intervensi, selisih nilai parameter (sebelum dan sesudah terapi) yang signifikan pada kelompok kelor adalah (0.794&#xB1;0.81) untuk hemoglobin, nilai feritin (29.378&#xB1;42.48), MCHC (Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin Concentration) (2.459&#xB1;2.86), RDW (Red Distribution Wide) (1.4&#xB1;2.07) dan trombosit menurun sebesar (36529.41&#xB1;59024.48). Sedangkan kelompok kontrol selisih nilai parameter yang signifikan adalah pada hemoglobin (0.644&#xB1; 0.83), eritrosit (0.475&#xB1;0.523), hematokrit (2.189&#xB1;4.08), MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume )( 4.756&#xB1;8.91), MCH (2.183&#xB1;2.47) dan RDW (2.844&#xB1;2.80). Perbandingan efektifitas daun kelor dengan terapi standar menghasilkan perbedaan signifikan pada peningkatan nilai hematokrit (3.14&#xB1;1.47), MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin ) (3.495&#xB1;1.33), MCHC (3.264&#xB1;0.96), dan penurunan trombosit (55251.634&#xB1;23404).
