  • [<b>ABSTRAK</b><br> Tugas Karya Akhir ini membahas strategi politik yang dilakukan oleh kelompok kepentingan Gay and Lesbian Activist Alliance (GLAA) dalam penetapan The Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act 2009 tentang pernikahan sesama jenis di District of Columbia, Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2009. Strategi politik yang digunakan adalah upaya dukungan dan aktivitas politik GLAA. Studi ini menggunakkan teori kelompok kepentingan terutama tentang lobi dan advokasi, melalui kampanye informasi, lobi langsung kepada pejabat publik dan koalisi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik studi kepustakaan dan studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi politik GLAA dalam melakukan lobi dan advokasi berhasil dalam penetapan RUU 18-482 atau The Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act 2009 untuk menjadi peraturan hukum di District of Columbia. <hr> <b>ABSTRACT</b><br> This paper discusses about political strategy by GLAA toward Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act 2009 in District of Columbia to legalize same-sex marriage. GLAA political strategy can be identify with their supportive effort and political activity. Theory of interest groups are applied to explain the political strategy of GLAA in this case study, especially on lobbying and advocating tactics concept tactics such as information campaign, direct lobbying to public officials and coalition. The research methodology was qualitative through literature study and documents study techniques.
