<hr>During the operational period of gas transmission pipelines are found a potential hazard that could result in pipeline failure. Pipeline operator companies need to do a risk analysis to identify hazards, determine the parameters of probability and consequences of pipeline failure and conduct qualitative risk analysis due to know the risk profile along the pipe and the failure consequence for people, environment, assets and company reputation. Based on the risk level, pipeline operator can determine the mitigation and recommendations to reduce risk in the form of strategic onshore pipeline inspection, maintenance and repairs related to the mechanical impact threats, internal corrosion and external corrosion. Calculation of the risk analysis states that 87% of the pipeline segments are at low risk and 13% of the pipelines are at intermediate risk. Analysis of fitness for service (FFS) conducted in the pipeline is stated that the pipeline is feasible and safe to operate at MAOP pressure.
