Remaja merupakan masa peralihan yang memiliki proses perkembangan yang
berbeda dengan usia anak-anak dan dewasa. Adanya diagnosis kanker pada masa
remaja akan menimbulkan berbagai macam respon fisik dan respon psikologis
bagi mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengeksplorasi pengalaman dan
mekanisme adaptasi remaja yang didiagnosis penyakit kanker. Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif.
Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri dari tujuh orang remaja dengan penyakit kanker.
Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam berdasarkan tujuan
penelitian. Analisis data hasil wawancara menggunakan tahapan analisis menurut
Colaizzi. Temuan hasil penelitian ini antara lain: respon dan adaptasi fisiologis,
respon dan adaptasi psikologis, dimensi kebutuhan, dimensi sosial, dimensi
konsep diri, dimensi aktivitas, serta harapan dan upaya untuk sembuh.
Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini ditujukan pada perawat anak yang mungkin akan
berhubungan langsung dengan remaja penderita kanker dalam membantu mereka
untuk menggunakan strategi yang adaptif dalam menghadapi diagnosis kanker
dan efek terapi kanker.

<b>Abstract</b><br>
Adolescence is a transition period which has a different developmental process
with childhood and adults period. Cancer diagnosis during adolescence can cause
a variety of physical and psychological responses. The purpose of this study is to
explore the experience and adaptation mechanisms of adolescents who diagnosed
with cancer. This study use a qualitative method with descriptive
phenomenological approach. Participants of this study consisted of seven
adolescents with cancer. Data is collected by in-depth interviews. Data is analyzed
according to Colaizzi?s stage data analysis. The findings of this study include:
response and physiological adaptation, response and adaptation of psychological,
adolescence with cancer needs, social dimension, self concept dimension,
dimensions of activity, as well as the hopes and efforts of adolescent cancer to
heal. Recommendations of this study is aimed at pediatric nursing to help
adolescent with cancer in use an adaptive strategy in dealing with cancer
diagnosis and side effects of cancer therapy.</description><identifier>https://lib.ui.ac.id/detail?id=20305790</identifier><recordID>20305790</recordID></dc>
