Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan manajemen piutang Rumah Sakit Mekar Sari, sehingga pengabdiannya dibidang layanan kesehatan dapat semakin meningkat. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus dengan pendekatan pemecahan masalah, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu identifikasi masalah, uji coba pemecahan masalah dan mengevaluasi hasil coba. Dari penelitian di dapatkan belum adanya sistem dan prosedur penanggulangan piutang serta tidak adanya petugas yang khusus menangani masalah piutang pasien rawat inap perorangan. Pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan adalah dengan membuat sistem dan prosedur penanganan piutang pasien rawat inap perorangan sekaligus meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas sumber daya manusia di bagian keuangan. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan periode rawat merupakan phase dan proses yang menentukan. Penagihan berkala setiap dua hari dan peresepan obat-obatan non life saving dapat menurunkan piutang pasien rawat inap perorangan. Saran yang diajukan ialah menyempurnakan sistem prosedur penanganan piutang pasien perorangan, mengupayakan terseleksinya pasien yang kurang mampu dan memperkecil piutang yang tidak dapat ditagih. &lt;hr&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;ABSTRACT&lt;/b&gt; Due to its nature of services, hospital is oftenly in debt condition. Such condition is difficult to avoid as the first priority of service is to save the patiens' life, but the impact is that the debt problems occurred afterwards. The goal of this research is to improve the hospital debt management of Mekar Sari Hospital, so that a better and improved dedication of health service could be achieved. This research is case study using the problem solving approach which consists of three stages: problem identification, try out of the problem solving and evaluation. This research finds out that a system and procedure are not yet available to overcome the debt problems and there is no special staff who is in charged for this problem especially for the in patient division. The problem solving used is by applying a system and procedure to solve the debt problems and to improve the quality and quantity if the human resources in finance department. The result of the try out shows that the period during the patients are hospitalized is the most determining factor and phase. Charging the patients regularly every two days including the non live saving medicine could reduce the debt of patients to the hospital. The suggestion proposed is to complete the system and procedure of debt problem solving for the in patient division, and to select the poor patients and to reduce the debts which cannot be charged to the patients.&lt;/i&gt;</description><identifier>http://lontar.ui.ac.id/detail?id=81109</identifier><recordID>81109</recordID></dc>
