Relokasi pedagang tersebut dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta sebagai salah satu strategi penataan Kawasan Malioboro, atau lebih dikenal dengan sumbu filosofis Yogyakarta. Pemindahan pedagang kaki lima ke kawasan terpadu ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kenyamanan dan keteraturan bagi pengunjung Kawasan Malioboro, sekaligus meningkatkan pendapatan bagi pedagang dan pemerintah Yogyakarta.&nbsp;Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menyelidiki dampak relokasi bagi pedagang kaki lima (PKL) dengan melakukan wawancara dan observasi. Data dikumpulkan pada periode November 2022 untuk kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Penelitian ini menemukan dampak positif dari relokasi PKL dari Pedestrian Malioboro ke Teras Malioboro yaitu tersedianya fasilitas umum yang memadai, keamanan yang terjamin, efisiensi waktu, dan kemudahan mobilitas pedagang. Namun, relokasi ini berdampak negatif bagi pedagang, khususnya terkait pendapatan yang menurun dibandingkan sebelum pindah. Selain itu, PKL di teras Malioboro terbukti mampu beradaptasi dengan kondisi baru, bahkan membuat aturan bersama untuk menghindari konflik.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the socio-economic impact of street vendors relocation at the Pedestrian Malioboro to Teras Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The relocation was carried out by the Yogyakarta Special Region Government as one of the strategies of Malioboro area arrangement, known as the philosophical axis of Yogyakarta. The purpose of this relocation to this integrated area is to provide comfort and order for visitors to the Malioboro area, as well as to increase income for traders and the Yogyakarta Government. Using qualitative research approach, particularly case study research method, this study investigates the impact of relocation for street vendors (PKL) by conducting interviews and observations. Data was collected in the period November 2022, followed by thematic analysis techniques. This study found some positive impacts on the relocation of street vendors from the Pedestrian Malioboro to Teras Malioboro, such as the availability of public facilities, guaranteed security, time efficiency, and ease of trader mobility. However, this relocation has had a negative impact on traders, especially regarding decreased income compared to before moving. Nonetheless, evidence showed that the street vendors on the Teras Malioboro were able to adapt with new conditions by formulating some rules to avoid conflict.
