- Learning Mathematics in Elementary School has not been able to improve students’ numeracy skills to the fullest, one of the reasons because many students think that mathematics is a difficult science and the explanations obtained related to the material cannot be understood by students properly. The use of monotonous teaching methods without any innovation makes students easily bored and less focused on understanding the materials during learning. This study aims to determine the increase in students’ numeracy skills after using learning media in the form of video Math Magic Trick SeMUT (Stiped Multiplication Trick). The research orientation that will be discussed is the operation of multiplying integers. The research was conducted in class IV SDNU Al Istiqomah Gresik with 9 students as subjects, 3 male students and 6 female students. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative research. Sampling techniques using observation with test instruments. The research method uses a pre-test and post-test. The final research show that there is an increase in students multiplication counting skills after applying video education the Math Magic SeMUT.
- Pembelajaran Matematika di Sekolah Dasar belum mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung peserta didik secara maksimal, salah satu penyebabnya karena banyak peserta didik berpendapat mengenai matematika merupakan ilmu yang sulit dan penjelasan yang didapat terkait materi belum dapat dipahami peserta didik dengan baik. Penggunaan metode pengajaran yang monoton tanpa adanya inovasi membuat peserta didik mudah bosan dan kurang fokus memahami materi selama pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berhitung siswa setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa video Math Magic Trick SeMUT (Stripped Multiplication Trick). Orientasi penelitian yang akan dibahas mengenai operasi perkalian bilangan bulat. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas IV SDNU Al Istiqomah Gresik dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 9 peserta didik yaitu 3 siswa laki-laki dan 6 siswa perempuan. Jenis penelian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan sample menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dengan instrumen penelitian berupa tes. Metode penelitian menggunakan design eksperimen pre-eksperimental dengan jenis One Group Pretest-Posttest. Hasil akhir penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian peserta didik setelah diterapkan pembelajaran menggunakan media video pembelajaran Math Magic SeMUT.
