  • Emotional intelligence involves the ability to include feelings and emotional expressions of a child, recognize the feelings and emotions of oneself and others, regulate ourselves and our relationships with others and motivate ourselves. Group guidance on role-playing techniques helps students grow and develop optimally, understand different roles in their environment, adapt them based on the various characters possessed by the people around them, and reflect the reality of fun everyday life through a play atmosphere. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Role Playing Technique Group Guidance in improving the emotional intelligence of junior high school students. This study uses the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The data analysis used to test the hypothesis is a non-parametric statistical test, namely the T-test, to see the significance of changes in the control and experimental groups in each group. The results of data analysis using the T-test showed that the control group received a mean of 124.00. In contrast, the experimental group got a standard of 135.25 from the calculation of the T test obtained t_count = 2.764 because the value of t_count is greater than the price of t_table = 2.446>2.764 at = 5%, then the calculation is significant. So it can be concluded that the role-playing group guidance technique effectively increases the emotional intelligence of junior high school students.
