However, the reality was not everyone able to accept it as an inevitability. In fact, this issue being debated and controversial of all the &#xA0;time. Nurcholish Madjid is a supporting character of this problem. Thoughts on pluralism lack of sympathy, even totally negative portion from Muslim intellectual. This research, showed that the controversy against the idea of pluralism Nurcholish Madjid caused: a difference in providing an understanding "meaning" pluralism itself. According to Nurcholish Madjid, pluralism was a system that saw the value of human existence in a positive and optimistic, and accept it as a fact that was very much appreciated. Another experts, though that all religions were the same, and considers the theological pluralism was theology infidels. Nurcholish&#x2019;s opinion was influenced from his education in America. He often quotes from Western literature and analysis of social sciences that development there. Due to "religious fanaticism" that considers all Islamic teachings was final and could not be bothered anymore, especially regarding religious beliefs.
