  • Seismic response of a medium depends on many factor one of them is porosity and saturation. There are seismic amplitude dependent offset changes within the same lithology when the different pore fluid types and saturations are introduced. Amplitude versus offset (AVO) method that works in reflectivity domain used to identify and analyze hydrocarbon anomaly. But, in some cases we need deeper analysis to predict the axistence of hydrocarbon of carbonate reservoir .In this study to identify the presence of hydrocarbons in the Formation Tuban in East Java Basin using the AVO application Amplitude Versus Azimuth (AVAZ). AVAZ method is a method to identify a distribution based on the AVO effect that appear in direction of reservoir fracture. To determine the fracture direction, gradient of attenuation to offset is used in every measurement direction.
