The result of the silting is the reservoir&#xE2;&#xFFFD;&#xFFFD;s water level continously shrink in recent years. One of the causes of reservoir silting is sedimentation process in Pacal reservoir. This sedimentation occurs because erosion processes happened in the Pacal reservoir catchment area so eroded soil material carried by water stream flowing into the Pacal reservoir. The usage of remote sensing and GIS (Geographic Information System) are used for the mapping of erosion using USLE method (Universal Soil Loss Equation). Parameters used in USLE methods include Rain Erosivity Index, Soil Erodibility Indek, Land Conservtion (CP), Length and Slope (LS). This research use ALOS satellite censor. This satelite has three remote-sensing instruments which is Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer type 2 (AVNIR-2) for precise land coverage observation. The final result of this reaserch is the erosion estimation map of Pacal reservoir catchment area.
