contents Comparative analysis was carried out between two databases specialising in the Social Sciences and Humanities: ISOC produced by Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spain) and CLASE produced by Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Similarities and differences between the two databases are remarked upon with emphasis on criteria for the standardization of content analysis and indexing languages. Conclusions point out that both products have accumulated a wealth of experience and can serve as models for databases in these disciplines. It is suggested that collaborative work can be done in the development of equivalents between the terms accumulated in their respective indexes and thesauri.
