Penggunaan bahan baku tumbuhan sebagai agen antimikroba dapat mencegah resistensi antimikroba. Bawang Bombay (Allium cepa L.Var. Cepa) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang mengandung komponen senyawa sulfur yang disebut thiosulfinate atau isothiocyanates. Senyawa tersebut diketahui memiliki efek antibakteri maupun antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur minyak atsiri bawang Bombay terhadap isolat klinis C. albicans. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 kelompok perlakuan (konsentrasi 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20%) dan 1 kelompok kontrol negatif (akuades dan Tween 80) dengan 4 kali pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antijamur dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram Kirby-Bauer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan minyak atsiri bawang Bombay tidak memiliki daya hambat terhadap isolat klinis C. albicans.Kata Kunci : Candida albicans, Allium cepa L. Var. The use of natural products as an antimicrobial agent can prevent antimicrobial resistance. Onion (Allium cepa L. Var. Cepa) is one of the plants that contain sulfur compounds component called thiosulfinate or isothiocyanates. These compounds are known to have antibacterial and antifungal effects. The aims of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of the essential oil of onion against clinical isolates of C. albicans. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of five treatment groups (concentration of 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) and one negative control group (distilled water and Tween 80) with 4 repetitions. Antifungal activity test was conducted by using Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. The results showed that onion essential oil has no inhibitory effect on clinical isolates of C. albicans.Keyword : Candida albicans, Allium cepa L. Var.
