Techniques, Quality assessment of Translation in Term Accuracy.
The research aims to find out the translation techniques and the quality
assessment of translation in term accuracy applied by the translator in translating
Indonesian cultural terms in the bilingual yogyes website. The data analyzed are in
terms of words and phrases level only. There are see & do part of 8 arts and
culinary in all part they are 33 delicious culinary spot in Yogyakarta.
The research applied descriptive qualitative method. Firstly, the researcher
collect the data from bilingual yogyes website. Secondly, the data classified into
types of translation techniques applied Molina Albir‟s theory (2002). Thirdly, the
researcher analyzes the quality assessment of translation in term accuracy. The
assessment is obtained from questionnaire distributed to three raters. Fourthly, the
researcher calculates the finding data into the table of a percentage. The last is
drawing conclusion.
The result of this research shows that there are 105 data from see & do part of 8
arts and culinary in all part they are 33 delicious culinary spot in Yogyakarta. The
analysis types of techniques translation are literal translation with 41 data
(39.04%). The second is pure borrowing with 20 data (19.05%). The third is
description with 19 data (18.10%). The next are amplification with 16 data
(15.24%). It is followed by adaptation and generalization with 4 data (3.81%).
The last is discursive creation with 1 data (0.95%). The analysis on the translation
accuracy shows that there are 40 data (38.10%) considered accurate. The 60 data
(57.14%) are considered less accurate. The 5 data (4.76%) are considered
inaccurate. The domain of technique translation is literal translation with 41 data
(39.04%) because the target readers are foreign. Thus, selection words are simple
