  • Measles is an acute contagious disease and one of the main causes of children death in the world. In 2007, there were 1.7 million or 5% of Indonesia under-five-years-old children death were caused by diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I). One of the programs that have been proved effectively to suppress the number of death from PD3I is immunization. Sawang Health Centre was one of the health centres in South Aceh District that only covered less than 19.86% of measles immunization in 2009 out of the 90% targeted. The type of research was survey with an explanatory that aimed to explain the influence of predisposing (education, knowledge, job, belief), enabling (availability of health services, distance to health care facilities) and reinforcing factors (immunization staff support, family support) of infants’s mother (age 9-11 months) on the measles immunization in the working area of Sawang Health Centre Sawang Subdisttrict in South Aceh District in 2010. The population were all mothers who had baby (age 9-11 months) in the working area of Sawang Health Centre amounted to 53 people. All population were sample. Data were collected by using questionnaire and analyzed by using multiple logistic regression test. Results showed that variable which had significant influence on the measles immunization was knowledge (p=0.005). Variables which had no significant influence were education, job, beliefy, distance to health care facilities, immunization staff support and family support. It is suggested to: 1) Sawang Health Centre officers to increase advocacy to rural and local community leaders, 2) Health officers to increase the cooperation with cadres and it is expected a training for cadres on helping and disseminating information about measles immunization, while having data collection (home visits), or through the group counseling (in houses of worship, social gathering or school).
