Vitamin C as an antioxidan had a relationships with cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism and less of vitamin C could increase cholesterol level in body.. The aim of this experimental was to know the effect of given vitamin C on the cholesterol and triglyceride serum blood level of hypercholesterolemia animal experiment (guinea pig). The experimental design that been used in this study was completely randomized design factorial with two factor treatment was vitamin C dose with 4 treatment. (P0, P1, P2, and P3) and duration of vitamin C with 2 treatment (12 and 24 days). The first cholesterol and triglyceride serum blood level of guines pig was measured then given hypercholesterolemia treatment. After hypercholesterolemia serum blood level was measured, each group was given by vitamin C except for P0, with the vitamin C dose P1= 5.425 mg/kgBB/day, P2 = 38.75 mg/kgBB/day and P3 = 77.5 mg/kgBB/day. The cholesterol and trygliceride serum blood level of guinea pig was measured at 12 and 24 days after given vitamin C. The result showed that given of vitamin C with doses 38.75 mg/kgBB/day (P2) and 77.5 mg/kgBB/day (P3) after 12 and 24 days could significantly decrease the cholesterol serum blood level of guinea pig(P&lt;0,05) compared to group P0. Vitamin C could significantly decrease the triglyceride serum blood level with doses 5.425 mg/kgBB/day (P1), 38.75 mg/kgBB/day (P2) and 77.5 mg/kgBB/day (P3) after 12 and 24 days (P&lt;0,05) compared to group P0.</description><description>020804043</description><contributor>Suwarso, Edy</contributor><contributor>Lubis, Leli Sari</contributor><date>2011-04-19T01:41:49Z</date><date>2011-04-19T01:41:49Z</date><date>2011-04-19</date><type>Other:Student Papers</type><identifier>Indra Satria Luhur</identifier><identifier>http://repository.usu.ac.id/handle/123456789/22979</identifier><language>ind</language><recordID>123456789-22979</recordID></dc>
