ABSTRACT
Domestic Violence in the environment, especially the wife have spread
to all parts of Indonesia. Domestic violence does not just happen in big cities but
also in smaller cities such as in West Sumatra, especially in Islands District
Mantawai. Mentawai people are the people who are still left behind, they are still
holding strong in the order of the customary rules of community life and many
who do not know about the rule of law in this country. With the Law. 23 of 2004
on Domestic Violence, has been the basis for the Investigator and Investigator
Assistant to Law Enforcement Crime Physical violence against wife in Household
Environmental Police Unit PPA Mentawai Islands. The formulation of the
problem is How the Law Enforcement Crime Physical Environment of the wife in
the household in the Mentawai Islands Police Unit PPA. Are Obstacles faced by
the PPA unit in the Mentawai Islands Police Law Enforcement Crime commit
physical violence against wives in Household. How is the effort made by the PPA
unit Mentawai Islands Police face obstacles in law enforcement Crime physical
violence against wives in Household. In order to answer the problem used sociojuridical
approach. In Enforcement Legal Investigator Assistant Investigator and
Police Units PPA Mentawai Islands uses two mechanisms in Legal Enforcement,
by the term law enforcement and Non Judicial Juridical. Judicial enforcement is
law enforcement procedures in accordance with the laws and regulations which
take legal settlement of his case. While law enforcement is non-juridical law
enforcement as well as through the procedure, in accordance with the legislation
but in the law enforcement and Investigator Assistant Investigator can perform a
discretionary action that are not bound by the rule of law in the resolution of a
case of family settlement. Obstacles faced, the absence of the police budget to
finance Visum et Repertum the victims, in terms of proving lack of openness
victim testified because it still considers the problem of trauma and disgrace the
family. The absence of policewomen and Non Investigator Special Services
(RPK). Efforts are made to cope Visum et Repertum costs are still traumatized

restore the confidence of the victim, and coordinate with the Agency for Women
