On the nineteenth century, there was a beginning of the colonization of European states over Africa included Morocco. In the beginning of colonisation, Morocco was colonized by Spain. The coming of France in Morocco forced Spain had to divide into two parts, Morocco on the north area for France and Western Sahara on the south area of Morocco for Spain. Most of states in Africa which were colonized by European states declared their independences except Western Sahara, as a territory that separated by Spain. The problem can be found here is that Western Sahara as a non-selfgoverning territory, regarding to the UN, was claimed by Morocco as a part of its territory. The rejection of Morocco‟s claim was coming up from Western Sahara people who lived in Tindouf Algeria within Polisario as represntative group and also Algeria as neighbor state of Morocco and Western Sahara. The continuous support from Algeria to Western Sahara‟s self–determination proposal actually will be advantages and disadvantages the position of Algeria. Moreover, to help in analyzing the issue, this research uses Geostrategic Concept, Regional Power Concept, Balance of Power Concept and State Responsibility Law through qualitative research method. This research argues that there are some several reasons why Algeria still continues to support Western Sahara people in self – determination proposal.
