- This research is motivated by many phenomenas which someone is able to achieve something big by showing their abilities and skills through snapgram feature in instagram. In using snapgram, it has special feature to share photo and video, not only used for sharing a post, however as medium to reveal information of existence for instance ability and skill, this research is aimed to find out what snapgram users do in utilizing social media as tool of developing self – existence on student instagram account owner. This reseach used descriptive qualitative approach by using purposive sampling technique with some criterias. It gained five research subjects through interview as data collection technique. Research subject is students instagram owner and technique of data collection are interview, documentation and analysis data model which is cited by Miles and Huberman. Result of this research is existence of snapgram feature in instagram, people can freely express themselves. The five subject used snapgram feature to post photo and video with different characteristics. Thus, the five subjects interpreted their own existence based on what they want to be considered and viewed by others. Behavior of snapgram users is different according to their needs. By using snapgram, they felt that post photos or videos of their activity could be appreciated and it would add their existence to other users. Their existence is recognized based on positive feedback in the form of comment, the big number of viewers and followers. According to result of research, researcher recommends for users to use snapgram wisely with positive needs and purposes.
