PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT TANAMAN KENAF (Hibiscus cannabinus L.)</title><creator>Wicaksono, Wildan Arif</creator><subject>S Agriculture (General)</subject><description>Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) is a plant that used its stalks to be taken the fibers as wood substituents so that it can reduce the use of wood-based pulp. Local microorganism of banana corm and papaya fruit is contain microbes which can improve the soil around the root system, and help the plants to absorb the nutrient. Scarification is able to soften the seed coat to become permeable to water and gas. This study therefore seeks to determine the effectiveness oflocal microorganism from banana corm and papaya fruit with different of long seed physical scarification on the growth of kenaf seedlings. Experiments conducted in factorial that is using randomized design group (RAK), which is the 1st factor, namely the kind of local microorganisms (M) consisting of M0 : without treatment (control), M1 : local microorganisms of banana corm, M2 : local microorganism of papaya fruit. The 2nd factor that is long physical scarification (S) by soaking in hot water (70 0C) consisting of S0 : without treatment (control), S1 : 7.5 min, S2 : 15 min. There are 9 combination and repeated 3 times. The results showed that there is an interaction between the use of local microorganism from banana corm and papaya fruit with the different of long seed physical scarification on the number of leaves, plant height, and the diameter of base stem parameters of kenaf plant seedlings aged 43 days after transplanting. The best combination of treatment is local microorganism from banana corm with long physical scarification of seeds by soaking in hot water (70°C) for 7.5 minutes.
