B is a pipe made and produced based on API standart (American Petroleum Institute) which has carbon 0,3% (source : Iscor Flat Steel Journal) that included in an average carbon steel. Wiryo sumarto, 2000 stated that the average carbon steel has good weldability than carbon steel.&#xD; There are some factors that influence the metal power, they are : carbon content, austenising temperature, homogeneity austenite, and Quenching.&#xD; The purpose of this research is to know the increating power of material steel API 5L-X Gr. B whit steep Quenching treatment.&#xD; The result of this study showed that there is a real difference between the heat treatment with 700, 800, 9000C contains base metal and HAZ and welding have metal from steel API 5L- X Gr.
