This research was aimed to inventory fishes in seagrass ecosystem in Barranglompo Island as well as to find out their abundance and biomass by using gill nets. This research was conducted in September 2004, with stations located in the western, southern and northern parts of the island. In each station two gill nets (30 m x 1.5 m with each mesh sizes 2 and 3 inches) were placed horizontally to the coastline. Sampling was conducted during daytime (06:00-18:00) and nightime (18:00-06:00) during full moon and new moon. The number of fishes caught were 105 which belongs to 19 species and 18 families. Coral reef fishes were the most caught in the area.
