  • Schistosomiasis in Indonesia are only found in three endemic areas, Napu Highlans, Lindu and Bada in Central Sulawesi. Schistosomiasis is still a health problem in the Napu Highlands with a prevalence 4,78% in 2010. Winowanga village is one of the villages in the Napu Highlands with the highest prevalence in 2010 (11,46%). This study aims to determine the level of public knowledge about schistosomiasis in the Winowanga village, with case-control study design. Determination of ceses and controls based on mass stool examination in June of 2010. Case, if found worms and schistosomiasis control, if not found worms in stool examination schistosomiasis mass in June 2010. This study successfully interviewed 242 people, consisting of 97 cases and 145 controls randomly selected. The results showed that the knowledge society is still relatively low. There was no relationship between knowledge with schistosomiasis (p value > 0.05). Extension of intensive and continuous with the right media, especially in high-risk groups such as school children are very necessary in order to increase knowledge and awareness in order to behave well.
