Kadar tersebut terlalu tinggi untuk dijadikan limbah dan dikirim ke Pusat Teknologi Limbah Radioaktif (PTLR), namun tidak ekonomis jika langsung diproses di PCP sebagai umpan proses pemurnian. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan proses evaporasi sehingga uraniumnya dapat dipunggut kembali sebagai ekstrak dan kondensatnya dapat di kirim ke PTLR sebagai limbah. Pembuatan unit evaporator baru untuk mengolah limbah akan membutuhkan biaya tinggi sehingga pendayagunaan unit pelarutan yellow cake sebagai evaporator perlu dilakukan. Proses pendayagunaan unit pelarutan yellow cake meliputi proses utilisasi sistem pemipaan tangki pelarutan dan percobaan evaporasi limbah efluen secara batch menggunakan unit pelarutan yellow cake untuk mengetahui unjuk kinerja proses evaporasi. Unit pelarutan yellow cake dapat didayagunakan sebagai sistem evaporator dengan memodifikasi sistem pemipaan untuk mengurangi volume limbah cair uranium di PCP dengan kapasitas &#xB1; 80 liter/jam dengan kadar uranium di kondensat sebesar &#xB1;10 ppm dan mendekati baku tingkat radioaktivitas yang ditetapkan BAPETEN.&#xA0;Kata Kunci - Evaporasi, Pendayagunaan, Pelarutan, Limbah, Uranium&#xA0;&#xA0;&#xA0;ABSTRACT - Liquid waste or effluent by product of the purification process at PCP, still has uranium content about &#xB1; 20 gU/liter. The level was too high as waste and sent to The Radioactive Waste Technology Center (PTLR), but it is not economical if it is processed at PCP as a feed for the purification process. Therefore it is necessary to do the evaporation process so that the uranium can be extracted as an extractant and the condensate can be sent to the PTLR as waste. The build up of a new evaporator unit to process waste will be high cost, so that utilization of yellow cake dissolution unit as an evaporator is carried out. The utilization of the yellow cake dissolution unit includes the utilization of the piping system and evaporation experiment to determine the performance of the evaporation process. Yellow cake dissolution unit can be utilized as an evaporator system by modifying the piping system to reduce the volume of uranium liquid waste in PCP.
