  • This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to know (1) students’ activities in mathematical modelling approach and (2) students’ mathematical modelling skill after experiencing mathematical modelling approach for derivative topic in SMAN 11 Palembang. The subject of the research are 37 students class 11th Science 3 in SMAN 11 Palembang. The data was collected by using observation to see students’ activities in mathematical modelling approach and test to see students’ mathematical modelling skill. The result of the study shows that (1) the students’ activity in mathematical modelling approach is categorized active and (2) The students’ mathematical modelling skill after experiencing mathematical modelling approach is in good category.
