  • The objective of the research is was to know the best genotypes of nutrient efficient maize on vegetative phase and early generative phase and to compared the genotypes (progeny plant) with it varieties (parental plant). Maize is one of the agricultural commodities that are needed in Indonesia is good for human food ingredients, animal feed and industrial raw materials. Demand for maize has increased every year in line with the population increase. Enterprises penigkatan productivity of maize in the country can be done in various ways such as the use of high yielding varieties of nutrient efficient varieties. The research was conducted on February – May, 2016 at Agro Techno Park (ATP) Ministry for Research and Technology, Dictrict Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. Genotypes A1, A4, A13, A40, B35, B52953, C3, C33, C36 will be compared with each genotypes and genotypes B and C also will be compared with it parental plant that’s Sukmaraga and Lamuru varieties. From all genotypes, genotype A40 showed the best growth in vegetative phase and early generative flowering compared with other genotypes. Genotypes B and C have lower yield in vegetative growth compared with it parental plant.
