  • Mangrove litter in the waters plays an important role as a nutrient for aquatic biota. The purpose of this study was to analyze the productivity of mangrove litter in Musi and Bayuasin waters and analyze the productivity of mangrove litter between different species in Musi and Banyuasin waters. Sampling of mangrove litter used 1x1 m2 Litter-Trap which collected every 15 days. The average of litter productivity was mentioned in g/m2/day. The mangrove species found consisted of Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Brugueira gymnorrhiza, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Soneratia alba and Soneratia caseolaris. The results of the analysis showed that the average productivity of mangrove litter in Banyuasin waters was (2.80 gr/m2/day) that higher than in Musi waters (2.39 gr/m2/ day). The highest average productivity of that mangrove litter was found in the species R. mucronata (3.27 g/m2/day) and the lowest was found in A. alba (2.36 g/m2/day).
