Remarks Eonycteris spelaea was common throughout the study area, but more abundant in coffee plantations than in forest. One individual was caught with mist nets above the Way Canguk River. It is easily distinguished from other pteropodids by the lack of a claw on the second finger. Individuals were observed feeding on flowers of kapok (Ceiba pentandra) and coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) in Sumber Rejo Village (JCCH, personal observation). It has been recorded roosting with Rousettus bats in a cave in Way Canguk Forest (MN, unpublished data).</description><description>Published as part of Huang, Joe Chun-Chia, Jazdzyk, Elly Lestari, Nusalawo, Meyner, Maryanto, Ibnu, Maharadatunkamsi, Wiantoro, Sigit &amp; Kingston, Tigga, 2014, A recent bat survey reveals Bukit Barisan Selatan Landscape as a chiropteran diversity hotspot in Sumatra, pp. 413-449 in Acta Chiropterologica 16 (2) on pages 421-425, DOI: 10.3161/150811014X687369, http://zenodo.org/record/3943617</description><identifier>https://zenodo.org/record/4341943</identifier><identifier>10.5281/zenodo.4341943</identifier><identifier>oai:zenodo.org:4341943</identifier><relation>info:eu-repo/semantics/altIdentifier/url/http://treatment.plazi.org/id/C11B87BDFFABBF369A98FA4FFD177487</relation><relation>doi:10.3161/150811014X687369</relation><relation>url:http://zenodo.org/record/3943617</relation><relation>url:http://publication.plazi.org/id/3D22FFC5FFA2BF3B990BFFE2FFA47674</relation><relation>doi:10.5281/zenodo.4341942</relation><relation>url:https://zenodo.org/communities/biosyslit</relation><rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</rights><source>A recent bat survey reveals Bukit Barisan Selatan Landscape as a chiropteran diversity hotspot in Sumatra, pp. 413-449 in Acta Chiropterologica 16(2) 421-425</source><subject>Biodiversity</subject><subject>Taxonomy</subject><subject>Animalia</subject><subject>Chordata</subject><subject>Mammalia</subject><subject>Chiroptera</subject><subject>Pteropodidae</subject><subject>Eonycteris</subject><subject>Eonycteris spelaea</subject><title>Eonycteris spelaea</title><type>Other:info:eu-repo/semantics/other</type><type>Other:publication-taxonomictreatment</type><recordID>4341943</recordID></dc>
