Analysis of Factors That Relate to a Work Performance of a Dentist at The Health Center in District of Kudus

  • A number of a patient visit at the Dental and Oral Polyclinic at the Health Centers in District of Kudus since year 2001 (31.149) until year 2005 (28.328) had decreased and had not reached a target (4.04% from 10%). The dentist was responsible for decreasing of it. Aim of this research was to know a description of the dentist’s work performance and the factors that related to the dentist’s work performance at the Health Centers in District of Kudus. Type of this research was an explanatory using a survey method and cross sectional approach. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 14 informants who were the dentists at the Health Centers in Districts of Kudus. Focus Group Discussion was conducted to three dentist’s and In-depth Interview was conducted to three persons who were the Head of the Health Centers in District of Kudus. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The quantitative analysis used Rank-Spearman Test with the significant level less than or equal to 0.05. The variables that have a significant relationship with the dentist’s work performance are age (p=0.0001), length of work (p=0.028), incentive system/reward (p=0.002), chance of promotion (p=0.016), leadership (p=0.028), supervision (p=0.002), and motivation (p=0.004). Respondents whoare the younger age group, the shorter work period, the low incentive, the few chance of promotion have the low work performance. Sumber Utama : www.mikm.undip.ac.id
